Waiting In The Water
Waiting in the water
While waiting on the father
Need him now more than ever
My cup drier than the Sahara
What position do you play on the battlefield
Of the mind
What is your power?
Where do you stand the tallest?
There are some days
That the clouds move by fast as birds can fly
Then there are other days
That they move by slow enough
For you to make cartoon characters out of their irregular shapes
There are days when the sun shines bright enough for you to see rainbows at the
end of each hair of your eyelash
And there are days when the sun is too depressed to rise and shine
What position do you play on the battlefield of the mind
What is your power?
Where do you stand the tallest?
I'll Fight For You
Nobody ever taught me,
but I know how to swim in deep waters
When the liquid I’m submerged in is deeper than the undiscovered seas
I tread above the dark waters of my own iniquity
I fight.
I survive,
then come up on land and evaporate
into the vapor of higher self
spirit creates smoke that dances
and
intertwines with the air of the heavens
I inhale this new breath of life
I transcend into God
But the journey was hell
Got so low I fell into a bottomless pit
Only to get so high I can soar above it all
I love you. I’ll fight for you
Fight for the child that wasn’t seen
Fight for the space in between
I’ll fight for you
I cry out for you in the wee hours
of your drunken nights
When your high as a kite
Unconsciously dosing out the fire that ignites
When you’re up against the demons that keep you on the cement
I fight for you
Because you’ve always been worth it
Your the type that deserves luxury as an everyday experience
Even when you never noticed
Even when you lost focused
One thing I know is
I’ll fight for you
Go through the cycle
Put a nigga on trial
I prove to you, your essence is vital
When I fight for you
We?
You sing through me
As I add the tone of love
to every lyric of our being
You present the invitation of surrender
by massaging away the burdens
the world has bestowed upon us
I lay my spirit in your hands
and receive the gift
Instinctively
you know all the right ways to caress
which leads the path
for me to discover God
During the times
when I cry enough tears
to supply a thousand monsoons
you swiftly sweep down with your winds
and blow it all away
Then we become a hurricane
Dancing in our destructive wet chaos
We orchestrate our daunting ability
to engulf each other in a wave of what we consider to be love
l admit
sometimes it is easier to submit to your rip tides
than to fight against the current
I yield to your subconscious request for my invisibility as you set sail on your own
That’s when
the sunshowers
that know me so well
roll in with thunder and electric UV rays
Sending a jolt through my spine
that paralyzes me
with a mixture of overwhelming feelings
Rainy and sunny all over
at the same time
creating a rainbow
at the end of the angelic devastation
This leads me to muster up the courage
to put an end to the weaving
of the intricate web
we’ve spun around our intertwining hearts
I take my liquid love
and leave you with your salt
so that I can become my own stream
So that I can live as a complex network
of divinely flowing water channels
As my moon pulls our tide
further away from the shore of matrimony
lunar light possesses me with a drawn in stillness
I save myself
before I vanish into “we”
permanently
